Trips For Young Kids
Rivers with Class I flat water interspersed with occasional Class II rapids: waves 1-2 feet high. Using a self-guided watercraft is an option.
*Best for young children and tentative adults.
NOTE: All-Outdoors Class I-II trips are designed for children aged 5-7 years old and their family.
Beginner - Intermediate
Rivers with Class I - II water interspersed with Class III rapids: waves usually 2-3 feet high, passageways contain some obstacles. Rapids are challenging but not overwhelming.
* Best introduction to rafting for the widest range of people.
Intermediate
Rivers with Class I - III water interspersed with occasional Class IV rapids: waves and drops 4 feet high and sometimes higher, difficult passageways containing some obstacles. Unintentionally falling out of the raft may mean an uncomfortable "swim".
* Best for those with previous Class III experience wanting to try-out Class IV whitewater, and for athletic, adventurous first-timers.
Intermediate-Advanced
Rivers with Class I - IV water and more difficult Class IV+ rapids: 4-5 foot waves and drops, complicated by difficult passages containing obstacles that require quick, precise maneuvering. Falling out of the raft and "swimming" in a rapid will be difficult.
* Best for those with previous Class III or Class IV experience wanting a more difficult whitewater challenge.
Advanced
Rivers with Class I - IV+ water interspersed with long, tumultuous Class V rapids: 5-8 foot drops and obstacles that must be avoided. Falling out of the raft means an extremely difficult and potentially hazardous "swim".
* Best for those with previous Class IV & IV+ experience seeking the ultimate whitewater challenge.
Unrunnable
Rivers containing rapids that are so difficult that safe passage is doubtful and chances of serious incident, injury and death are almost certain. If attempted and successful, luck deserves the largest portion of credit.
Fantastic!
This was a wonderful way to spend a day. Spectacular river, fabulously skilled guides, nice lunch, what more could you ask for. I think more people should go and bring their friends and family members.
Great experience!
My girlfriend and a few friends completed the 2-day Tuolumne river.
Food was good, rafting was a blast, people were great and guides were great. Would highly recommend, even if you have never been rafting before.
My friends and I had great time rafting down the river with our guide Dakota! We were nervous at first because this was our first overnight trip, but it was such a cool and fun experience to be sleeping under the stars. We enjoyed having the extra time to explore other parts of the river, an opportunity that we would never have had if we didn’t do the overnight trip. All the guides were really nice, take care of you, and feed you well! Shoutout also to the other guide Aaron and Christian who kept our gear afloat! Can’t wait to book our next trip!
We rafted with a family group of 7 and 3 novices. Despite some trepidation our guides assuaged all fears. The scenery and rapids were absolutely breathtaking. The guides (Dusty and Fred) were masterful and highly experienced. It was an action packed day of teamwork, exhilarating fun and incredible landscapes. This trip out surpassed all expectations. We felt safe at all times and enjoyed the adrenaline rush of the higher grade rapids. (We live in a town called Grand Rapids in Michigan! - a far cry from the majesty of the Tuolumne River!!) Outstanding organization, a nice lunch and a running commentary on the topography, geology, nature and history of the river. Plus a few bad jokes from Dusty :). Thank you for the highlight of our Yosemite vacation.
great trip, awesome guides, food was very good, just a terrific experience, would highly recommend
We had a wonderful day on the river. The guides are fun and knowledgeable. The water was refreshing and exciting. It was the first time for my adult daughter and she loved it. We can’t wait to go again next year.
Three days on the Tuolumne is an unmatched outdoor vacation. Fantastic guides, tasty food, fun day excursions. I highly recommend this one.
My husband & youngest daughter & I had a fabulous river rafting trip. The guides & AllOutdoor Company were excellent. It was time & money well spent.
Dear All-OutdoorsTeam,
I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for the incredible rafting experience we had with your company. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well-organized, and the entire team was professional, friendly, and attentive.
Scott and Kent, our guides, made sure we were safe while ensuring we had an exhilarating adventure. Their knowledge and enthusiasm added so much to the overall experience, making it both fun and educational. The equipment provided was top-notch, and the entire trip was an unforgettable adventure.
We will definitely recommend your company to friends and family, and we look forward to joining another trip with you in the future.
Thank you once again for a memorable day on the river!
Best regards,
Tatiana B
Took my adult daughter, with whom I've done a handful of AORafting trips these past few years, to try the Tuolumne for our first times. Circumstances beyond AORafting's control regarding damaged roads required a 2+ mile hike (downhill) to the put-in spot, but they did a good job informing us days in advance, explaining proper footwear for the hike vs. rafting and then during the hike stopped multiple times to make sure nobody was left behind. The Tuolumne is considered one of the more advanced rivers so AORafting equips their rafts with large rowing oars to give the guides more control. This admittedly took away from the perceived "thrill" of the more advanced rapids, but it also paid off in the few stretches of calm water that the guides took upon themselves to row us through. On that note, for an 18 mile run, the density of rapids is very good; Lots of fun whitewater to ride. As I've come to expect from past trips, AORafting does a great job with the picnic lunch and times it well within the day. The end of the day had a long (~1hr) tow via motor boat from the mouth of the river across a large section of Don Pedro Lake to the take-out spot. After that, there's a long winding drive up the mountain back to their site; If you came on rte. 120 east to get there, you'll have been made familiar with that stretch of the ride.
With the guides using rafts with oars, I think families could get away with slightly younger children (tweens and young teens) going on this river without concern, but check with AORafting. I have younger children that I would now consider taking after the experience.
I have yet to have reason to give AORafting anything less than 5 stars. From booking to the intros by the friendly guides at check-in through the trip, they do a great job taking care of their rafters. I'm looking forward to my next trip with them.
This rafting trip was a great experience. I went with a group of eight friends on the 3 day Tuolumne River trip in early June. Our guide, Zach Rowland, was awesome! He was very knowledgable, patient, and friendly. Zach and the rest of the guides did an amazing job providing a memorable and fun experience. I would definitely recommend this rafting company and these guides.
Hands down the trip of a life time. 20 friends rafting down the T River. The crew at AO made this trip one for the record books. From the staff that helped with the booking to the guides that navigated us down the river… they all were top tier humans. The guides knowledge of the river and its history was unbelievable. They also knew some epic hikes to take us on after we got to the beach to set up camp for the day. All in all the AO team gets a 100000000000 star review. Definitely booking with them again for a Cherry Creek big boy rapid trip.

This was a great trip.
Our raft guide, Kent, was fantastic. He knows every rock in the river, he guided the raft beautifully, and he was a pleasure to spend the weekend with.
The food was good, especially the two pasta dishes at dinner.
The whole river crew and the office staff were great.
Great day on the river! Our guide Jack was awesome. We’ve never rafted before. With his instructions we were good to go in no time. The rapids were amazing. Especially the class V. No one got tossed out. Except when siblings pushed each other out 😂. Jack made sure the waters were safe before we went for a swim.
The lunch was great. The length of the 1 day trip was perfect for us. We were cool even though it was 100 degrees out. Would definitely recommend this trip and this company!
Overall, had a spectacular experience on the two-day Tuolumne rafting trip. The guides— Skye, Jack and Kent were super professional while being fun and relaxed at the same time. The food was excellent. Sitting under the stars at night can’t be a bad thing! The rapids on Day 2 make the trip a killer 5-star event all around. I definitely recommend the two day trip. Then go for some food and drinks at the Saloon in Groveland. 5/5!
Oh my God! This is the second time I rafted the Tuolumne River with All Outdoors and it was AMAZING!! We all had the best time EVER!! This is MUST - do this trip!!! The first time we did the two day trip, took the kids and camped and played games. The second time, it was all adults and we did the one day trip. Everyone is already planning th next river rafting trip with All Outdoors!!
A fantastic trip with Kent as skipper. Great company throughout the day and even had my nervous wife relaxed as he skilfully took us through the rapids. Great family memories and thoroughly recommend. Thanks ever so much guys
The Tuolumne River is a long 18 mile rapid filled adventure. Brian was a great guide that successfully navigated us through the rapids and was full of local knowledge.
This was my first rafting trip and it was fantastic! I went with a group of friends of all varying degrees of experience and every single one of us had a blast. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. The food that was prepared was delicious and way more than I expected. Everything from the the rafting itself, to the views, hikes, and camping areas were spectacular and I would recommend using AO to anyone!
I definitely recommend the 3 day Tuolomne! Everything about the trip was wonderful- rafting the rapids, jumping in to swim the smaller rapids, the adventure hikes, the food! Our guide Dane was awesome. Our 15 year old daughter had the time of her life and is talking about being a rafting guide. We will be back to raft again with All Outdoors
Beginning to end, the experience at AO was fantastic. Organized, friendly, safe, exciting—with breathtaking views and thrilling rides through the rapids! The Tuolumne is unspoiled and wild (we saw two bald eagles!), the Class-IV rapids are challenging but doable, both for me and my 13-year-old son, who had the time of his life. We also met some great folks, and bonded quickly working together to keep things fun and safe. The AO team did a great job informing us of best protocols while conveying a sense of professionalism and control. A single class-V rapid (which is optional) adds just enough of a sense of danger to keep you on your toes, but our guide, Rowen, expertly kept our team of novices on track, while keeping us laughing, informed, and amused in the downtime between rapids. Highly recommend!
We had an excellent boat Raft Captain, Joe. He was definitely not your average Joe! Great time shooting the rapids. Joe made sure he communicated his plan for each rapid. We had wonderful raft mates from the Netherlands. Excellent Lunch spread. Beautiful scenery. Thorough safety protocols were reviewed and followed. We highly recommend this adventure.
My daughter and I had a great time on this river trip. It was exactly what we were hoping for. I’ve been on several of the California rivers and on the Grand Canyon and these were the best rapids that I’ve experienced so far. Staying overnight on the river is also a very special experience that I would recommend to everyone. This wouldn’t be an entry level river or for younger children but if you’re looking for some exciting class IV and V rapids then this is a river you should try.
Matt was our guide. He and Beth put together a wonderful trip with great food. Everything was well organized and we were all taken care of exceptionally well.
It was actually my second time rafting the Tuolumne and it was an AMAZING experience again. The view is beautiful, the rapids are a lot of fun, and the organization brilliant. Joe explained all rapids and how we would move through which gave great insight into what we were doing and why. I will definitely return to AO Rafting next time when I am visiting from Europe.
We had an absolute blast for our friend’s bachelor party. The guides were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the entire trip. I was a little bit hesitant at first, having never rafted before. However, I never felt unsafe at any time during the trip. Having experienced guides is really key, and these guys know what they’re doing! Horse, Kent, Gator, Dave, Mickey, Sky, Garret, Amy and Helen are the best! If possible, try to get Kent as your guide! I would 100% do this trip again.
Amazing trip, another thing off my bucket list crossed off. Went with my good friend and her dad and we all had a blast. First time dropping down class 5 rapid and it was glorious. Our guide, Dustin, was friendly, knowledgeable, and quite the lifesaver (literally). The meals prepped by the crews were delicious and there were enough for second servings with every meal. Getting on the inflatable single kayak and going down class 4 rapids was quite the experience and I love it.
Definitely gonna book another one next year with more people to share the moments
I've been rafting with AO for at least 15 years, and yes I could cut and paste the same review every year. That is because every part of this organization is top-notch. It begins with the folks answering the phones who can handle all your questions and make the planning a breeze. The river staff is always professional and knows how to have a great time while keeping us safe, and well fed! Special shout out to my guide this year Sky, who besides getting us through the tricky rapids (made harder because of lower water), spotted 3 bald eagles.
Awesome experience. All outdoors is it. Had a great staff that was very laid back but when it was time to paddle and focus on the task it was go time. Also the food was excellent thought we had ratatouille on the trip with us it was so good. Definitely can’t wait to go back and tackle cherry creek.
Incredible!!! We were well cared for and supported for our entire 3 day trip. Such great adventure and fun!! The guides are second to none!!
We had an awesome day trip! The river was amazing and Dakotah was fantastic, very knowledgeable and made us all feel very comfortable! The lunch and snacks were great! We would definitely recommend this rafting trip to fellow rafters!
This trip was fantastic! I really appreciate how well-organized All-Outdoors is - the entire process from booking to the actual rafting went quite smoothly. We had a mix of first-time rafters and second/third-timers, aged 24-30, and everyone agreed that this was a fantastic trip overall. Thanks to our rafting guides Dave and Horse and the rest of the great staff at All Outdoors.
I wrote a more detailed review on Yelp here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/all-outdoors-california-whitewater-rafting-walnut-creek?hrid=bfidDhmdCE6BCNvdfL7NPw
Great raft trip! Dane, Dustin, Mickey, and all the staff were terrific! There were 4 of us, 2 couples, and we had a blast on this 2 day trip! We also enjoyed camping river-side and hiking up to the small waterfall. These guys work hard! They allowed us to have fun, kept us safe and we enjoyed being on the river with them. We always have a great time with All-Outdoors. Thank you!
This trip was incredible. All together there were 7 of us, my 6 friends had never rafted before. From the very beginning of our trip the staff made us feel comfortable. All the guides were knowledgeable and did everything to make us have an unforgettable experience. We were lucky enough to have Dustin as our guide on our boat. He was so good at allowing us to have fun but also keeping us working and safe. He had an ability to share his experience and skill on the river and pass that along to us while allowing us to understand the magic of being out there in this pristine nature. Thank you AO and Dustin for this trip! We will be back!
Amazing! We did the 1 day tour of the Tuolumne River and had a fantastic trip! Incredible views. The rapids were amazing. Mikey, our guide, was great - fun, friendly, funny, experienced, competent and very knowledgeable. The provided snacks and lunch hit the spot.
Horse, another guide, drove our bus to and from the river and was also great.
If we raft in California again, we will give All-Outdoors a call!
Had a great time with our boys. It was their first time. Dustin our guide did a great job and the staff prepared a surprisingly amazing lunch riverside. It was a LONG day on the water so prepare to be tired afterwards and DON’T forget sunscreen.
This was a fantastic trip!!! Dane was a superior guide, sharing his knowledge, his experience, and his smooth moves on the river. 100% of the time we felt comfortable and safe with Dane. He worked incredibly hard the entire trip; from setting up camp, guiding us down safely, cooking up delicious meals, to chatting with us about the stars, geology and the history of the river and surrounding lands. The river was challenging and the group we got paired with was awesome. Would do this again in a heart beat!
Was awesome!River guide Dane was excellent he always told you what to expect so we were ready.Stopped half way for lunch all was perfect!Highly recommend
18 miles was just the right trip
2 day trip was perfect. The hot weather had us wanting to take every swim break we could. Guides were awesome on the river and in the kitchen. Wildlife was amazing - eagles, rattlers, cave lizards/frogs. Side hikes also rad - creek and abandoned mine.
Fantastic time on the river! Guides are the best in the business and their office put up with my constant barrage of questions to get my group ready for the trip :)
This was a great trip! Beautiful scenic river, very professional guides, lots of fun. Kelsey was the best!
Your guides make the day great
Totally Awesome trip! Thank you, Collin, Kelsey, Mikey, Joe, and Noni for a wild adventure. The 3-day trip is definitely the way to go. The ""river time"" was something I did not expect to be so much GD fun. Our guides were very hard working, super fun to be around, and know how to have a safe, fun, wild adventure. The food was perfect, the campsites incredible, the energy was wild. 14 of my friends flew in from all over the world to celebrate my 40th birthday. I made them all grow a gentleman's mustache for the trip. Our guides, especially Collin, were so jealous of everyone's sweet mustaches that the begged us to let them join the club and shave their beards to mustaches. Definitely the highlight of the trip for me. Seriously can't recommend this trip enough. You won't regret it.
My husband and I have rafted before and we brought our nephew and his wife on their first rafting adventure. They were nervous until after we had our safety talk and practice in the raft before we started our trip. The bus ride down to the river is the start of the adventure...that is all I will say about that...best to enjoy the surprise. The water this year was running high and fast...yahoo. We loved our guide Max, from Costa Rica....we voted that we had the best raft because of our guide! This is a must see river. Forward paddle!!!
The entire trip from beginning to end was well organized. We loved being on the river and the two hikes we went on were gorgeous!
Really enjoyed the Tuolumne at these flows. Yes we had a boat dump and another flip, but that is to be expected at these high flows. Lunch buffet was yummy, but more cookies would have helped. The waves were high. What a memorable trip.
This is the second time I've rafted with All Outdoors. Their knowledge, friendliness, and complete care and attention to safety, well being and fun are phenomenal. We were able to enjoy ourselves because we knew they were taking care of things and would give us a heads up before there was something we needed to pay close attention to. The scenery is gorgeous, the rafts and equipment were great, the flow of timing was great and had an amazing time all around. This was to celebrate my boyfriend's 50th birthday and his first time rafting. He loved it. The people who go on this trip as guests are usually very cool people and I've often bonded with the other people on the trip easily as everyone is so friendly and having a great time.
First time rafting, we love an adventure and this trip had plenty of it. Gavin, Jessie and Joe were brilliant. They looked after us to level we felt like rock stars. They worked tirelessly to ensure we were always safe but made it look effortless.
Great experience!
Great experience. Rapids were pretty constant throughout the whole trip. It gets really hairy. Our Guide was great he took right through a lot of the rapids and not around as requested
Beautiful weather. Awesome flow. Great healthy lunch. Best rafting trip so far.
I work for an Outdoor Adventure Program at California State University San Marcos. My program brought 12 students and 3 staff on this 3 day white water rafting trip. The 12 students on this trip were all first time rafters and campers, and absolutely loved this trip! Although this is a more intermediate-advanced river, the students enjoyed the extreme nature and found it to be ""thrilling, fun, and pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone."" This has been my second time on this river, and it becomes more fun every time! This company strives to meet the needs of all individuals and keeps safety as a top priority for the group. The guides are extremely organized with trip planning and communication prior and during the trip. Lastly, the food is amazing and the guides do an excellent job with all dietary restrictions and allergies. Highly recommend this river to anyone looking for a thrilling adventure! Worth every penny!!
AO and Colin and his crew showed us a great time! Colin was the guide for our boat and we all appreciate and thank him for being the ultimate river guide, we had so much fun. Not only did he keep us at ease (and in line) with his prowess of the river, but fully entertained and educated. We also enjoyed the extra adventures that were added to the trip l..checking out a mine, traversing down a slope/ravine by rope, swimming across the river, floating downstream in unison..Was a memorable weekend and would be happy to recommend this trip to others!
Could not have been a better trip!! Our group of 12 was managed by Horse, Collin, Shooter Mc Gavin and Brit. Totally chill with the experience and organization of a finely tuned group. We did a little deep water soloing, which was a blast!! The food was amazing. The highlight for me was Horse. An outdoor madman that could easily be mistaken for a homeless guy. His knowledge of the area, geology and plant life, certainly leads you to believe he has a doctorate degree in archeology or something like that….. Fabulous trip for sure! Thanks!! The Michigan Crew.
Colin & Carson were amazing guides. They were obviously extremely competent & safe but remained extremely playful & kept it all fun. Their love for their job was plain for everyone to see. I can't imagine anyone that would have been better.
Joe was our guide and he did an amazing job, and we really appreciated his knowledge of the Tuolumne River. Also, since it was my husband's surprise birthday gift, the staff was great and he enjoyed every minute. We will be back for another trip soon.
As always the rafting trip was fun and the guides were well versed and knowledgeable. I was a little disappointed in the Tuolumne itself as the rapids themselves were not all that exciting because I booked the trip for late summer. I really thought that because the flow was controlled that the rafting would be the same year round, however the guide explained that that was not so. My bad as I thought that this trip would be the ultimate in rafting excitement so all I can say is live and learn and go earlier in the season next time!
This was a great two day rafting trip. Had horse as a guide who was full of energy and exciting conversations that made the trip very fun. Want to go down more advanced rapids and even look into raft guide certification.
Beautiful scenery- was worried with it being intermediate/advanced it was be too hard for the kids (youngest 12) but the guides were AMAZING! Loved it
I took my two boys (13 and 15) on their first ever rafting trip. They are fit and fearless and enjoyed it to the max. The team were highly professional, knowledgeable and above all, good fun. Sleeping at camp under the stars after a day on the river and a delicious home cooked meal at the water's edge have to be one of the best things I've ever done. We all agree it was the highlight of our 10 - day California road trip
Colin and his crew took really good care of us! It was good to see some of the same guides as in the past. They will make sure you have a good time and are very knowledgeable about the local surroundings including geology, fauna and plate tectonics! I enjoyed the times of rapids but also easy floating. Some of the side hikes were great including the gold mine shaft. The food was great and Colin and his guides are very professional. Stick with AO vs. others--they are the standard on Tuolumme! Lou
Loved it!
An expensive but thoroughly enjoyable day. Well worth the high cost
We love this trip and try and do it every year, two days on the Tuolumne is perfect. At this time of year the rapids become more technical as the water level drops and more rocks appear. Our guide, Packard, had great eye for the best line and our group seemed to work well together to provide the power for the raft. We camped at firehouse which is a big sandy area perfect for pitching a tent or laying out your air mattress and it also provided a swimmable rapid. I'm usually hungry from paddling and all the food was great. The campsite coffee was especially welcome in the cool and quiet of the early morning. Thank you Joe and Dane. This was one of the most cohesive trips I have been on with only 10 guests and 3 guides everyone seemed relaxed, happy to chat over a beverage (all the groups brought something so we were well supplied) and watch the twilight fade as the moon rose.
It was awesome from start to finish. I loved every minute of the trip. It was my boyfriends first time rafting and he is now hooked on river trips!
We've used AO Rafting on numerous trips. The guides are very experienced, friendly, and work hard to make sure everyone is having a fun, safe trip.
Wonderful scenery, nice rapids, food was excellent, guides did an outstanding job.
Beautiful trip. Thrilling yet so peaceful. The combination of hiking and rafting on the 3 day trip is the way to go. Britt, Moose and Joe were the BEST guides. They made it our own trip and allowed us to give input in our campsites and activities we participated in. They were all knowledgeable, helpful, hardworking and entertaining. Chris was only with us for one day as a spotter in the kayak, but I appreciate his presence for safety due to high water flows. Can't get better than 5 rafters with 4 guides. We were spoiled. Highlights: hiking up blown out creeks with amazing waterfalls and swimming across mini rapids Take me back!!!
This was our second time down the Tuolumne river on a 2 day trip with All-Outdoors. Both times we had high water and exciting rapids. Our guides, Sage, Noah and Adam were lots of fun and made us very comfortable. We were well fed and taken care of. We intend to come back again and become frequent floaters! Loved it and thanks to All-Outdoors (again)..........jon and paul wright
AO delivers yet again. We did middle fork, American river a couple months ago and had such a great time with AO, we decided to go back this season. Tuolomne was a step up in experience, but our guide, Carson inspired confidence... tuolomne is my new fave...great rapid action throughout, never a dull moment.
It really was a great trip. Guides were nice, and made sure we all had a great time. Bocci ball game in camp was a blast. Food really exceeds expectations. Really u can't go wrong with AORafting
As great a guide as Kelsey was, we could tell she was even a better person. In our travels we've done quite a few activities that require guides of some sort. Kelsey is on the top of that heap. She made the trip even better than it was on its own merits. Thanks Kelsey! U DA BEST! Brad, Kristy, Kylie and Abby Falke.
This was a beautiful time of year to raft. The trip was well organized with a wonderful guide and a 2nd guide for the supplies and gear boat. The hikes up the gorgeous canyons took us to great water holes and waterfalls that we would never have found on our own. The food was great and the pace to move along was just right. not too much of a rush allowed us to enjoy the scenery.
Great experience, would totally recommend this trip to anyone. The rafting was fantastic & the food the guys made was so good. Would like to thank the 2 Kyle's & Sage for an amazing trip. So cool to camp out under the stars.
It was truly a great time. We paddled, swam, saw a bear, went down a mini fall. Our guide, kyle, was wonderful, attentive, encouraging, good sense of humor while taking his responsibility very seriously. There were jokes and comraderie interspersed with reminders, instructions, encouragement and excitement. My family enjoyed the day.
Unbelievable fun on the river...Drew, Noah, and Jesse were very professional, knowledgeable, and fed us very well! The river trip with my nephews and friends was exceptional, experiencing nature at its finest. The expertise and safety exhibited by our hosts was of the highest quality, and I definitely would recommend this trip for anyone with an adventurous, fun loving spirit. Thanks AO...until next time.
I have rafted with friends many times. This was the first time rafting trip for my three teenage sons and we were with a first time friend. The guides were the best! Energetic, organized, friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! The food was outstanding! The side trips on the 2 day trip were the best! A few places to jump into pools in the river and to just sit down and slide over little falls. Guides were very accommodating taking those who wanted to go and letting those who didn't stay back. We went the 4th weekend in July with a 5000 cfs flow. Nobody in either boat came even close to falling out. Slept on the riverbank under the stars. My boys were nervous before starting, but soon were asking if we could sign up again! My only complaint, was not getting in the line of more rapids. Everyone in our raft wanted to be in more of the rapids and they could have been run safely giving more thrill to the trip. I recommend this trip to anyone who has not rafted before or is intimidated by rafting. Make it a family trip with parents and grandparents. A 75 year old couple and his children went down in another boat with us. A great trip with a group! Take a GoPro camera. Helmets with mounts are available to re-live your trip.
Wow! This trip could not have been any better! We enjoyed the bus trip to the launch site even though we didn't realize it would be the scariest part of the trip! The guides were friendly, experienced, organized, and in charge! They made our trip easy and enjoyable and prepared delicious food for us along the way including a birthday cake for my Dad! The river was exciting and the water was refreshing. I cannot say enough good things about this company...one of the best trips and best values we have ever had!
Sage was awesome!
Where do I begin? Our experience deserves the best review ever written. Our guides, Kyle, Noah and ""Hicky B"" (aka the other Kyle) were phenomenal- competent, fun, articulate, interesting...they took care of everything (minus the paddling!) From the side hikes to the mining cave and swimming hole, to lessons in geology, the prettiest bathroom I have ever been in, excellent food and the river sauna...I could go on and on but the character limit controls my gushing. I expected great things but you guys hit it out of the park. My family created so many memories and strengthened our bond (which is hard to do with teenagers)! We wish you guys health and happiness! Sincerely, Jon, Michelle, Aubrey and Seth
Thank you for a wonderful 3-day whitewater adventure on the Tuolumne!! Our entire family had an exciting and memorable time.Ou guides, Kelsey, Danny and Ryan were all friendly, accommodating, well organized and communicated well. It was a special bonus that it was only our family of four and another guest that were on this trip. I would definitely recommend the 3-day trip for a more intimate and well paced experience on the river. We really liked the beaches where we spent our overnight camp and the side trips into the creeks like Clavey Creek and North Fork. We look forward to another trip with AO!
Long stretches of continuous action with river running 8500 cfs. Guide was terrific, very focused and skillful, with interesting observations during the lulls. No one left the raft except on purpose. Rapidshooter took awesome photos.
A truly amazing trip. I usually like to focus on one or two things when writing a review but AO Rafting far exceeded my expectations in all arenas. I arranged a 3-day trip for 18 for a bachelor party in high waters on the Tuolumne over this past weekend and everything went off perfectly, which is a direct result of the preparation, hard work and amazing demeanor of our river guides. The food was incredibly tasty, the prep was clean and well executed and the snacks were yummy. Each one of the guides we had was A+. I won't be able to name all of them because of the immense coordination a trip like this takes but Scooter, Sage, RB, Noah, Jenner, Mikey, Liz and Kyle all were phenomenal on the water and a pleasure to spend time with. They made us feel incredibly safe and were just plain fun to spend time with. I would especially like to thank our trip leader, Brit. She did such a wonderful job taking charge of our group. Her wilderness skills were phenomenal and it is clear she takes her job quite seriously with precise execution but all the while facilitating a wonderful time and contributing to the fun. The perfect group leader if there ever was one. I can't wait to book another trip with these folks.
Hanging out with the crew of Scott, Jamie and Danny was like hanging with old best friends. Rafting at 11,500 CFS on the T is an experience of a lifetime and they made it all happen with no flaws. Great trip, great guides, great old friends!!!
The entire AO Team was fantastic, putting safety and our satisfaction as their #1 goal. We ran the river over the Memorial Day weekend 2017, river flows were extremely high, 13,500 cfs. The water was cold and the rapids HUGE!!!!!! Our guide was Britt, she is very experienced and kept our team on our toes navigating the raging river. I can't say enough good things about the food, gourmet meals in a wilderness setting. Our group is already planning the next rafting trip, and we will be using AO for sure!
Pre made sandwiches for lunch would be better choice. Offer choices during booking. Ride down to the entry was a bit hair raising. Would have felt safer in a newer, well maintained vehicle.
Highly professional/experienced guides. Best Class IV river I have been on. Many more Class IV rapids than you would expect on a 18 mile trip.
Excellent!
From the initial conversations via e-mail to waving our good-bye's, this was a first class experience. Myself (56) my sons (24 & 20) & fiance (22) booked a Tuolumne river, 1-day experience before we got to Yosemite. My 14 year old wanted to do this as well but AO explained that at 34kgs, he was simply too slight to cope with this river. ""So what about us?"" I said, ""we have absolutely no experience & this river has cat 4 and 5 rapids!"". ""As long as you are fit and can swim well, it'll be awesome"" came the reply. We met at 9am, we were briefed and, after a very interesting drive down a very step, sketchy road, we were in the water by 10.30. To cut a long story short, we had a brilliant day (until 1730). Our raft driver Kyle was brilliant, great, clear and safe instructions. even in the cat 5 rapid, we didn't come out of the raft. It was only in a gentle rapid, we were instructed to jump out to experience what it feels like. Even the lunch that was provided was more than edequate. PLEASE don't lose your money at the Casino's in Vegas, spend it on white water rafting with an incredibly professional and safe bunch at AO and, as Kyle reminded us many times, you'll have an awesome time!
We were on three different rafts. Our guides we really awesome. I wish that the drive down to the river was explained a bit better when looking at different excursions. We were unaware that we would be in a bus that long and it threw off a few of our attendees.
love the overnight, camp on the river experience, that is the way to whitewater!!
Our guide Scott was excellent. He did an amazing job of directing our raft though a number of tricky-looking rapids.
Our guide was ""Horse"" and he really made the trip special. His extensive knowledge of nature, geology and the area history coupled with his excellent rafting skills made for an unforgettable experience. The whole staff was polite, courteous and professional from the bus trip out to lunch to the ride home. I would highly recommend this adventure to anybody seeking a thrilling, enlightening, and FUN experience.
My husband and I had a blast on this trip. Ryan (Horse) was a fantastic guide who is very skilled and gave us great instructions on rafting which made us feel so comfortable under his guidance. The entire day was very well planned including the great lunch and we could tell this AO and its staff take a great deal of pride in taking care of their rafters. Their standards of service are very high and we appreciated that very much.
Kelsey was an absolute highly skilled guide with charm. The trip was fabulous and the food was great. A big shout out to the guys carrying all our supplies. I will definitely request this crew next year.
I took my 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter. The Tuolomne River was the right level of challenge and excitement for all of us. Our excellent guide Gavin was always conscious of our safety and always in control of the raft. Teenagers can be jaded but my kids said afterwards how great the rafting trip was and that it was the highlight of our trip to Yosemite.
All I all a great trip . Our guide Kelsey was brilliant. Would recommend to anyone who wants a exciting day out !
Great staff. Great communication. Great orecautions. Had a blast.
Mikey was our guide, and we thank him for working hard on the oars. He was technically very good, read the rapids well, and hit every line in each rapid except one (but we still squeaked through fine). He nailed the line on class 5 Clavey with no problem, happily. His missives on team building were a bit overdone to middle aged professionals like us, but we cut him some slack in that regard. In short, a great day on the river. 18 miles is a long day but AO is well equipped to pull it off without a hitch, on the classic ""gem of the West"".
TWO DAYS WAS A PERFECT TRIP, NOT RUSHED OR TOO LONG TO BE BORING
Fast moving with nice breaks between rapids.
friendly and knowledgeable staff; good memories
We had a private party of 20 and couldn't believe our good fortune with an awesome crew of Carson, Kohner, Sage, Beth, Ryan, and Joe. They made the whole trip absolutely incredible and everyone in our group said this weekend was the best in recent history. Thank you guys!
We brought our 13-year-old son. He is a thrill seeker, and he loved it. He's dying to go on Cherry Creek now!
Great guides, great whitewater, great day!
Was one of the best family vacations we had been on and the staff could not have been more professional, knowledgeable and engaging. We have been telling all of our friends and family ( the ones that can handle themselves) that we are going to do this again next year. Was just a fantastic experience ~
Noah was our guide on this trip, and he was great. Put safety first and was very personable and knowledgeable about the history of the area. Had lots of fun.
What a fun time... Our guide was clearly ""one with the river and nature"". Love that he wanted to share that with us. While AO is not fully responsible for photos on the river, it was a bit disappointing that there was no one on the river to get that done on that day. The efforts our guide made to get us in range to see the two bald eagles and their adolescents was inspiring. Great group of people. Thanks AO!!!!
Noah was a fantastic guide! Great sense of humor who was able to riff off our group's wise-cracks. He clearly knows the routes and navigated us through the rapids with extreme technical skill. When he realized we wanted more thrills, he made sure to hit us with the biggest waves of the rapids square in the face for a really good laugh. Overall - fantastic company to arrange a whitewater experience. All of the other staff was just as fun as Noah. Equipment is top-notch. I think this is the first raft with the footholds in the front not torn off. Seriously no complaints, only love.
Our group of 4 guys had an awesome time on the Tuolumne today; great flow and hydraulics; awesome experience. Kudos to our guide, Drew for an awesome job too. Hope to book another adventure in future.
So much FUN! AO Rafting is great- from customer service booking the trip thru the bus ride out at the end of the trip! The guides took great care of us: making sure we knew how to stay safe in the rapids, preparing the lunch (with hot chocolate), and handing out sweaters to those of us that did not have enough layers. The Tuolumne had a lot of fun rapids, I cannot wait to go back for the bigger rapids in Cherry Creek! Big thanks to Adam, Matt & Colin
A well organised rafting trip, All Outdooors went the extra mile to ensure we rafted early in the season. Good advice and equipment given at the meeting/equipment point. Safety breifing given on land before safety procedurs and practices given again on the water before rafting started. The guide was really good, he was experienced on the river, guided the raft to ensure we enjoyed the thrilss of the ride. The scenery was good, the water being high made thrilling rafting, the snack stop where a class 5 rapid was explained was well received, lunch was good - all in all an excellent day for my wife and I.
Loved the Adventures of a lifetime during the annual PacTel Mobile Services Adventure Seekers, as we informally tagged ourselves. Looking for a safe, but thrilling, once in a lifetime or annual trip? BEST place to spend your vacation BEST destination for anyone Extremely well-organized, detailed, well-planned, and great for any adult willing to try new things! Promise you will want to return!
The guides were all incredibly knowledgeable. Lunch was an incredible spread. Despite a wildfire in the immediate area that required the staff to evacuate a building of equipment late into the night before, everything was still organized and prepared for our trip. It was a delightful, memorable experience.
I had a wonderful time. I was unaware that this rapid was going to be guided and scared that it would be too much to handle. To my very surprise it was guided and the guide was very experienced and while letting us do some work paddling he allowed for this experience to be unforgettable. I look forward to my next raft with AO
The two-day trip was a perfect getaway. The guides were great and they are very knowledgable and helpful. Sleeping under the stars was a highlight and the food was amazing. The rapids were challenging and also the side hikes were well organized and fun. Highly recommended. Kudos to our guides... Noah, Ryan (Horse), Beth and Joe. Will definitly do it again.
We were a family of 4 (2 teenagers), and had a great time, despite the tension arising from having to share the canoe with 2 ladies that were constantly annoyed with each other and made us all feel it :( Raft guide was excellent and rafting was great. Only suggestion, my teenage boys were still hungry after their round of sandwiches, I think there should have been an option for seconds... Another concern, although it was all part of the fun as well, but if you really think about it, the bus ride down and up through those narrow, windy roads with no seatbelts and WAY too many passengers was only acceptable because nothing happened... but I do think it´s way too risky for you guys from a legal point of view if something was to happen...
Our 2nd trip with AO and it was fabulous. Beth was fun and engaged all of us in the raft. Asked questions, told us history on the river and made us laugh. Love that she shared the 2 types of fun. Type 1 - You know you will have a good time going in to the rafting experience.... Type 2 - you were scared going in but had a great time and lots of FUN! (Hubby trying to talk me into Cherry Creek next year)... We'll see....
Bubba and Adam and Kelsie were so fun and friendly. This is our 2nd time and the river did not disappoint. Surprisingly I did not get as wet as much as I did from the first one we did at a 3 pointer. Weird. But I did get out of the raft to swim and the weather was perfect. Came home with sunburn - next time, long legged bodysuit and long sleeves.
We had a fantastic day thanks to our guides and our fellow participants. We spend most of the trip on the water, enjoying the views and the rapids. We even spotted eagles! Our guide Noa did a great job and was very enthusiastic with a good sense of humor. Thanks for a great day!
The three day on the Tuolumne was an absolute perfect trip for our group (6 30 somethings)- it was one part awesome and exciting rapids, one part fun camping (where someone else cooks you fantastic food) and one part exploration. The balance of these three was exactly what we didn't even realize we were hoping for. The Tuolumne is breathtakingly beautiful and unlike many other rafting-rivers, we felt like we were the only ones on it. I would highly recommend this trip!
We originally booked with the Merced River (Class III), but the river was running low during our weekend, so we switched to the Tuolumne. At first, we were nervous about the increase in difficulty (as first time rafters), but in the end, we had sooo much more fun! Class IV rapids weren't as intimidating as we had anticipated, and traveling through the canyons was utterly gorgeous. We felt like we were part of Jurassic World!! Beth was incredibly informative -- and we saw a river otter and a bald eagle's nest! Absolutely breathtaking.
The rafting guides were great! The trip was well organized, and we would be happy to raft with AO again in the future!
I have rafted the ""T"" multiple times, both on one day and two day trips, and the run last Sunday was as enjoyable and exciting as ever, despite or probably because of the fact that our raft flipped near the bottom of the only Class V rapid on the river. Thanks to Sam and Lyndsey for another wonderful experience. Incidentally, I am 68 years old, and the one day trip was not at all strenuous.
Lynsey was amazing! She had calming command yet encouraging to less experienced rafters. What else can I say but I was in great hands throughout the trip. I simply cannot recommend any other guide!
We rafted the last day of the season for the Tuolumne - September 1. I have been on Cherry Creek (class V) and the one-day Tuolumne (Class IV) with AO and had a great experience both times. I'd suggest asking for Noah to be your guide, he is outstanding! There is a huge difference between the two rivers, so if you are experienced with Class IV and looking for a challenge and a thrill, choose Cherry Creek. It has twice the elevation loss per mile and much more difficult and exciting rapids. The 'Miracle Mile' on Cherry Creek is something you'll never forget. The people are great, the lunch is good and a day on the water cannot be beat. The guides take a nice balance between safety and excitement. I could not have been more satisfied, both times.
The AO team was professional and personable, and our group had a blast. We'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Hey. This was the highlight of our Californian road trip. A family holiday with our teenage girls aged 14 & 16. Would recommend to everyone. We did the two day trip (if you get a chance to do an overnight - sleeping under the stars by the river was fun) & had a fantastic time with a bachelor party & 4 other people. ALL the staff were friendly & did their utmost to make sure everyone had a great experience. Our guide Drew was brilliant. Food was excellent. From booking (hey Emily!)to the end - fabulous. Could not recommend more highly. THANK YOU EVERYONE
Aloha to The people and staff of AO, My 17 year old son and myself were on this trip. I have never seen my son smile so much. He had told me that this was the highlight of our trip. Mahalo to you all for a wonderful experience!!
Beth was an outstanding guide. She is a very competent rafting guide while being fun, entertaining and personable for both adults and children. Sam was a solid trip leader and we enjoyed the rest of his supporting crew.
The guide was excellent, skilled, and had lot of rafting experience. Everyone in the boat was great. They came from all part of California for the 1 day rafting trip and were enjoyable to talk to during the day. The rapids were fun and the scenery along the 18 mile Tuolumne river stretch was amazing. We saw a Bald Eagle! Also, the lunch was great. Rafting the Tuolumne would be a great activity to add to your list if visiting Yosemite.
Fun river & our guide was great!
I really have no complaints. I felt the guides always had things under control and the river was a joy to go down. The rapids varried in the difficulty and technique used to pass them. There was never a dull moment. The down time seemed just long enough to recoup for the next rapid. The food was more than I'd expected from former experiences.
Loved this trip..professional guides..Love you Louis!!! Just two teenage boys and their mid age Mom..always felt safe, river was exhilarating and gorgeous and lunch was PERFECT. Worth every penny and I am a picky girl. I will come back..don't even try another company this one is top notch.
Second time on this river - it's an awesome trip. Makes for a long day, but that's part of the appeal! Beth, our guide, is such a pro- we love her and this company. We've rafted with many different companies and just keep coming back to AO, they have great rivers, great trips and all their guides are long-timers with tons of experience.
We do a ""guy"" trip every year consisting of my sons and grandsons. The consensus was that they wanted me to plan a rafting trip every year dwspite previous wonderful trips to Yellowstone, Yosemite, the phantom ranch in grand canyon, horse drives, ranch stays etc. You, the Tuolumne river and your staff really provided a wonderful trip/memory.
Jani and I had a blast and would recommend this trip to anyone - Horse and his crew are very professional - our raft driver Conner great guy! And oh yeah - Drew deserves a raise!! HaHa
Tried the 1-day lower Tuolumne River raft excursion after having done Cherry Creek. This time I brought my wife and 16 year old son to experience and we all had a great time. As we were previously informed by AO rafting, the 1-day excursion is quite long. We started rafting around 10:30 AM and did not finish the 19 mile trek until 5 PM. This trip is fine for first time rafters and is a great introduction with just enough Class III and Class IV rapids, with one Class V to boast about afterwards. Our guide Andrew was excellent and highly recommended. Safety is a priority and we would definitely do this again in the future.
Family of four experience, two teenage daughters, both had fun and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Guides were goofy and fun, food was pretty good, not gourmet but for camping, four stars. Will definitely come back and do it again.
We rafted the Tuolumne with another family this June, and the trip exceeded my expectations. Great weather, beautiful scenery, exciting rapids, Indiana Jones-like side hikes, and good food. Totally going to book again next summer with All Outdoors. Andrew our guide was top-notch, and seemed to enjoy the runs just as much as we did. He was knowledgable, safety was emphasized, and we had total confidence on the river. Thanks All Outdoors!
I have rafted with All-Outdoors many times and have always had a fantastic experience. Their guides are experienced, friendly and have a wealth of knowledge on rivers, the history of the area, wild life.. super cool. On this trip we hiked up to Clavey Falls and while it was a workout to get there it was well worth it. Great Trip - cannot wait to go again next year !
As always, another great trip with AO. One of the things i appreciate most is the attitude of the guides. Professional and friendly. This run was ""user friendly"". i have done more challenging runs, but this one is exactly what i wanted for that day. Decent rapids and plenty of ""in the water"" time. As always the scerny is the best.
I used to raft the two day Tuolumne trip but I am now too impatient. I didn't enjoy waiting the second day until noon for the river water to catch up to you from the dam even though the camping at Clavey River offers lots of hikes and a great swimming hole. I love the one day trip, but it is grueling for those of us who only raft a few times a year. However, you never get bored on the one day trip. I just know not to plan any big hikes the next day or to give myself a day off. This last All-Outdoors trip with Drew and Cooper was lots of fun. The two guides always gage their rafters to determine whether to take them through some of the bigger waves or go the 'safe route'. It was clear to me after years of rafting that, while making sure we were very safe, Drew tried to find routes that would give us a little extra thrill. We loved that! Surf City is a great place to surf holes on the river. We surfed so well that I was holding on to the thwart as the raft filled up with water! Great excitement. I've gone with numerous outfitters all over the world and when I do a river in California I come back to All-Outdoors. The guides are fun and seem to really enjoy the rafters. The Tuolumne has a lot of exciting rapids to keep thrill-seekers happy. The food is great and the guides are always mindful of your safety.
One of the best vacations we had !! Our guides Adam (and his helper Andrew) were humble, knowledgeable and very friendly. Very engaging, yet professional and great culinary skills. Tasty meals (including deserts), nice scenery, great campout location and exciting white water rapids. Strongly recommended for any age groups/levels and totally worth the money.
One of a kind experience, gorgeous river, hands down to the guides they're knowledgeable and cool, not to mention good cooks. Food's outstanding.
Great Trip, Fun Rapids, and Great Guides!
nice, guys
All around trip trip. The owner Scott and his guides were awesome. They all took the time to speak to everyone on our trip and remembered everyone's name from the get go. Food was tasty, Chicken pesto, salad with feta cheese and chocolate cake for dessert for dinner, gourmet scramble egg, cottage potatoes, bacon for breakfast. All under the sun and stars on the Tuolumne. Scott and All Outdoors is a class act. 25 plus years in the business says it all. Looking forward to Cherry Creek soon. Ps. Sam thanks for a fun and safe ride. You da man! Word!!!
From the friendly and informative phone rep, to the great guide Matt N., everyone was very professional. Saftey was a priority, but fun was never sacrificed. This is an amazing stretch of river.
My husband and I had an amazing time on the 2-day Tuolumne trip. It was out first time rafting, but we felt like we were in good hands and had a strong team. The river was pretty low, but that didn't keep us from having a blast. We really liked our guide Ryan (Horse), who is suoer chill and incredibly knowledgeable about plants, animals, and the history of the river. But all the guides were helpful and clearly REALLY enjoy their jobs. Loved that we had time to do some exploring around camp on our own. The food was incredible, too. As a vegetarian, I was initially concerned there might not be enough choices, but that was not nearly the case. Oh, and the coffee was especially good. After a full day of rafting, a well-earned feast, and a good night's sleep, there is nothing that can compare to awaking to the sound of the river.
We had a fantastic trip. Our guide, Lindsey, was competent, friendly, and loads of fun. The day was filled with great rapids, wonderful conversation, swims in the river, and amazing memories. We will definitely be going back to tackle Cherry Creek!
Outstanding family vacation! Two days is perfect. Not too long, not too short. You are working on this vacation. The moment you step in the raft, you are working. A fun work. My wife and I took our 21 year old son, 18 year old son and 16 year old daughter. Perfect for all. Food was OUTSTANDING! You would expect to have hamburgers and hot dogs on a trip like this OH NO! Tri tip, pasta salad, home made brownies etc. etc. You will get plenty full. There was a photographer the first day that took about 50 photos. We purchased all the photos and my family is smiling and laughing in EVERY SINGLE PHOTO!!! Just an example of how much fun this trip is! Our guide Lindsay was awesome and really knows the river and her job well. Courtney planned awesome meals and Matt and Adam are gourmet chefs! If you are even considering a family trip like this, DON'T THINK ABOUT IT ANY LONGER!!! Book it now and just do it! You'll be glad you did!
OUR 2nd trip with All-Outdoors We'll be looking at your two day trips for next year. We do these trips with our Grandson he was 13 years old the 1st time on the middle fork American and was instantly hooked!
Trip was well organised and very well trained and friendly staff and guides. Photos at end far too expensive since you have to take them per rapid and since my family was splitted up in two boats this would have costed me extra 200 $ for some memories. Photos should be sold by the piece.
I did this river in May of this year and had a great time. I had to go again so I did... The river level was lower this time and made it a little different from my last trip. But just as exciting. The brothers, Danny and Adam (our guides), were great and lots of fun. They have been on this river forever and I would recommend you request either of them.
This was my 4th trip with AO and it was another great experience. I appreciate the professional but laid back attitude of everyone involved with the company. We had one guide that we have rafted with before and three that were new to us. All four were excellent. The river and the scenery are the same with all companies, it's the people that are different and that is where AO excels.
I have been rafting twice before this most recent one in Toulumne. This is the best one I have been on. Diana et. al, have done a wonderful job in helping me arrange this trip for me and my friends. Daniel was our guide and leader in our raft and he was most intrumental in making our journey safe and very enjoyable. I'm very pleased with the excitement of the ride, the beautiful scenery and the excellent staff. Well worth the price. Cannot rave enough about the wonderful staff and the great experience this trip has provided. I have and will recommend this trip to anyone who has any interest in rafting.
This was my first time river rafting but probably not my last. All the guides were awesome and our guide Sam was great! Thanks to Noah for all the in-depth background on the things we were seeing and his enthusiasm. The river was exciting and team ""Water Bear"" wanted more! The mining cave hike was very interesting. Clavey Falls and the Grindstone were the highlights of the trip down river. Overall, it was an excellent experience and the food was top-notch (especially that salsa with cream cheese-I have got to steal that recipe). Great pictures West!
We booked this as a company trip, with 16 people. It was a great day, top to bottom. Could not have been better, actually. Big thanks to the whole AO team.
my 3rd trip with alloutdoors. everything organized smoothly, great and knowledgeable gide. they shuttle you around with no delays, they teach you, they feed you and they get you back after a day filled with adrenaline. can't ask for more, especially at the price they charge.
The Class IV was a first for me...loved it! The river ran swift and fun. Up next Cherry Creek!
This was our third company trip with All Outdoors. We all had a blast and left with huge smiles. The guides are awesome and always impress us with their knowledge of the rapids and the surrounding area. The rapids are always exciting and have been different every year, and the lunch is great!
Ryan Arsenault, our guide, was able to give us a perfect surfing experience. Bonus! Was not expecting that. You could definitely tell he knew the river and how to handle it. Had a great time and would (will) go again.
I went on my first river rafting trip nearing the end of the 2011 season, on the Tuloumne River. Having loved the river my whole life it was no suprise that I had a blast! I was fortunate enough to work with All Outdoors throughout the 2011 season on the Tuolumne and even before my trip I had gained a great deal of respect for the guides and the company. The guides were well organized, great leaders, communicated clearly, knowledgeble of the river, and fun to be around. I can tell you first hand that this company promotes real professionalism in all of its employees and you will not find a better experience anywhere! Thank you All Outdoors.
Thank you for your review, JMB! And thanks for helping us make the 2011 Tuolumne season a success despite the land slide on the access road that made using our buses impossible. Your ATV's and ATV drivers were invaluable to us :-)
Having to pack down to the river was not a plus. The river was running 12 times it's normal volume so it was a freight train! Made for excitment. Food and service was super good. Guides were really fun and friendly. Very knowlegable. Although I was injured in the first two hours I still had a great time. we plan on going again. Alloutdoors is a very good value and very professional. You couldn't go wrong booking with them...DO IT!
When I first saw the description for the 2 day Tuolumne trip, I was immediately excited. It was an awesome trip, with exciting rapids, memorable views and hikes, and great food. I was very impressed by the guides, who safely led us through the rapids, and prepared great food for us. The thrill of the rapids was contrasted to the quiet scenery, which was amazing. Our guide, Kyle, was amazing, and even sent us a handwritten postcard a few weeks after our trip thanking us for coming, and sharing personal comments. I thought it was a great experience, and would recommend it as an all around great trip for family and friends alike.
We organised this as a 15th birthday present for our son and thought it was a good way of seeing this part of the USA. We weren't disappointed! We have rafted before in the Pyrenees so knew a bit about what to expect. The rapids were great fun, the scenery amazing and we enjoyed the company of everyone on the trip.
Exceptional guiding through monstrous rapids. Perfect combination of paddling, hiking, great food and conversation. An all-around great vacation.
We had a very brief window of opportunity to gather the family before our sons went back to college, and the AO website led us to the awesome combo of a one day Tuolumne trip followed by a day on Cherry Creek. Drew was our guide on both days, and did a great job of setting us up for each of the rapids. Being able to work well together in the raft on Cherry Creek made it an exciting and memorable day. When we get the chance to come again, I think we'll take the 2 day Tuolumne trip before Cherry creek, as the dinner on the 2 day trip and the opportunity to camp on the river beats going into town for dinner any day.
Noah and Team were all about safety first with a personal touch. Being quite experienced in there field and very in tune with the environment we rate your company an A+. From booking our reservation to followup emails and contact just before launch day we appreciated your high customer service. Your ""Guide Staff"" and equipment was top notch. Lunch was well thought out, fresh and delicious with plenty to go around. =) We thank you for a memorable family experience and look forward to using your services again in the near future.
Carl was a great guide, he let us set the pace for how extreme we wanted to be within reason. Very friendly personable guide and even gave us tips on the rest of our journey to San Francisco. Lunch was overly good. Props on the grub guys.
We had never been river rafting before, so when we found out that the Tuolomne was at record high levels this year, naturally we were a little concerned about our safety. The guides were very honest about the difficulties and possible dangers of rafting a class IV-V rapid, but assured us it would be worth the effort. I'm so glad we listened. Rafting was exhilarating but never scary (even when our raft flipped in Clavey Falls!) The guides were funny, friendly, and very experienced. The food was EXCELLENT. Even our fellow rafters were wonderful people, although that may have been just our luck. Overall it was an unforgettable experience, and I know that next time my family decides to go rafting, it will be with this company.
Great rafting, fantastic food, outstanding guides, awesome trip.
You guys are awesome. I can't wait to come back next year. Cherry creek is calling my name. Amazing work and couldn't be any more fun. Thanks again guys.
This was my first rafting trip and was a gift from a close friend. I was terrified for the most part, but the guides (especially Lynsey!) are very knowledgeable and experienced, their number one priority is safety and they quickly put me at ease. I enjoyed the fact that all of the guides love what they do and they show it, their enthusiasm really rubs off. I also liked the commentary on the various things you see along the way, not just the rapids but the scenery, rocks, trees and wildlife too. The food was great, the water was flowing and everyone was having a wonderful time. As for the rafting itself, I would say the Tolumne is for more experienced rafters or people with a great sense of adventure. The rapids were challenging but fun, and the guides walk you through them with ease. The scenery along the way is just beautiful and I loved the views on the hike down to the river as well. I would definitely return for another trip with All Outdoors!
I was hesitant setting this trip up for the group of us guys that were going but the whole experience ended up proving to be awesome. The trip for us was great. The guides were fun to be around and the food was excellent. As with anything, experiences always depend on how much you put into them. Thanks and I look forward to getting back up there
I went on this trip with my 19 year old daughter and had a blast. The entire experience was top shelf. Guides ensure that no one is EVER put in a tough spot. This was my daughter's second raft trip and first class IV rapids. She loved it and was not intimidated at all. I have been down Cherrycreek and I loved it. For anyone looking for a great 2 day trip the Tuolumne is tough to beat.
Great Hikes & Swimming Holes. The Natural Water Slide was fun. The 3 Day trip allowed for time for additional hikes, fishing, playing games on the beach, and for relaxing. The guides are Fantastic, Knowledgeable of the rapids and camp areas, and Great Cooks!! I never ate so well while camping as I did with AO. My family and are already thinking about our next trip with AO.
Knowledgable and courtious guides!! There is NO DOWNSIDE to this trip. EVERYTHING from reservation process to the bus trip back was simple, pleasent and very customer centered. The food was outstanding, really amazing how they are able to swing such healthy and flavorful food on the river!. The hiking was super fun and a great way to relax, swim, and jump off rocks!! But MOST OF ALL... The guides... Each and everyone of them are WONDERFUL!!!
It was a great trip. The canyon scenery is great. I had done Cherry Creek the day before, so this was a nice ""slower, and relaxing day on the river."" Our guide, Lindsey was great, as were all the guides. Lunch was very good, as usual. As I mentioned before, I have used AO for 11 years. They are the best!
The guides, Sam,Kyle,Dave & Sam, were top notch. The food was outstanding! Above & beyond expectations. The fishing was great! Clavey & N.Tuolmne water was wonderful and refreshing.I wish the rapids had been bigger, but that is my fault for not going a couple months earlier. I hope to get on the river again next year. P.S. Oscar does have the best view on the river. Breathtaking!
Great trip! The rapids and rafting were fantastic. The guides were absolutely great, from reading the water and navigating the rapids to cooking and entertaining us. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the entire trip was well organized. Great hike up the North Fork to a fantastic swimming hole on day 3. [...] were great, thanks for a fantastic trip!
It was the funnest thing i have ever done. the guides are great and very smart and also are amazing chefs. the scenery and location is beautiful and it is an adventure all day long. Even at camp you can play in the river or go on side hikes. There are unlimited things to do. Everyone should experience this :)
As the trip planner, I had the responsibility of 6 others ""enjoyment"" in my hands. I wasn't sure if the others would enjoy rafting like I always had. AO did such a wonderful job, each of the 6 stated that they couldn't wait to do it again. As my 3rd trip on the Tuolumne, it's amazing how the same river changes in look, technical ability and overall experience each time. It's never the same - but always fun. For those that don't know who Oscar is, you will have to go to experience the true outside nature and appreciate that no where else in this world would you ever have a seat with a view like that!
My son and I had an awesome time! We are already planning for next season. Leaning towards the 2 day Tuolumne/Cherry Creek trip! Fun and very experienced staff made the trip that much better. Thanks!
Our guides were Kyle, Mark, Phil and Sam. They were all wonderful and we felt safe with them. I went for my 50th birthday with 2 others and we all agreed that this trip exceeded all our expectations! If you are thinking of doing a raft trip this is the one to do. AO is a great company and the guides are the best. I highly recmonend putting this trip, with this company, on your bucket list!! It was amazing! Thanks all you guys for making my birthday one I will never forget.
All 6 of the AO employees were terrific. They were Ryan, Matt, Beth, Kyle, Mark and Sam. We got to know all of them. They all made me and my daughters feel very comfortable. All were very kind and knowledgeable and very professional. I have a very high standard and they went above and beyond. There was a back office error and the need for sleeping kits had not been communicated to them but they gave up their own without hesitation to make us more comfortable. That wouldn't happen in most places I'd assume. Thanks from the Miller family, Jeff, Taylor and Maddie
All-Outdoors provided a 1st class rafting experience. Guides were organized, knowledgeable, fun and great cooks! Plan to just show up and have fun because they do all the rest. The river was exciting (but handled in the safest way possible) with fun hikes at lunch each day, soft sandy beaches for camping at night, and plentiful, delicious food. Our kids (19, 17 & 14) had an absolute blast. Can't wait to do it again.
The guides were all top notch.
I have rafted with AO 5 times now and have never had a negative experience. They make sure the guides are experienced and comfortable with the river they are guiding. ALL the guides are patient with the guests who come from all types of backgrounds and experience. Very safety conscious. Food is great considering your camping! I can't say enough about the whole experience.
