different these days, a wee\u00a0self-impressed, even a little boastful.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who\u00a0think you\u00a0already know the South Fork, think again.\u00a0 The standard flow during the summer months, which makes the SF&#8217;s beloved class III run the most\u00a0popular in the United States, is somewhere around 1200 CFS.\u00a0\u00a0Right now\u00a0we&#8217;re seeing, oh,\u00a05\u00a0TIMES that amount&#8211;literally 5-6 thousand CFS.\u00a0 This is the ideal trip for adventurous first-time rafters, and families with\u00a0older kids and\u00a0teenagers.\u00a0 The typical minimum age for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aorafting.com\/river\/south-fork-american\/welcome.htm\">South Fork rafting trips<\/a>\u00a0is 8 years old, but because of higher flows we&#8217;ve moved that guideline up to 12.\u00a0 So if a high water Kaweah or Merced River trip is a little too much for you, check out the South Fork, which may be just the ticket at these higher spring
