About the Wedding Site

Ceremony and Wedding Reception site:

Our ceremony site offers casual, built-in amphitheatre seating on a gentle slope. The site is shaded by Gold-Rush era oak trees and features native-plant landscaping.

Reception site: We have two sites available for relaxed and informal wedding receptions. The shady oak area can accommodate smaller groups with rustic picnic table seating next to our strawbale building. The open air, sunny meadow area can accommodate larger groups and outdoor tents. Or, combine the two areas as you desire. Our river front property offers many options for your pictures.

Facilities: The AO River Center has lots of parking, spacious, attractive bathrooms (handicap accessible), and is an easy one hour drive east of Sacramento, and 2.5 hours from the San Francisco Bay area. We also have very casual changing areas for both men and women available to the wedding party.

Accommodations:

We are located next door to the Lotus Inn and Café Mahjaic, excellent choices for wedding rehearsal dinners and housing out-of-town guests. Directions can found on the contact page.

• Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast—beautiful views of the Coloma-Lotus Valley

• Camp Lotus, just a mile away, has cabin rentals as well as car camping sites.
• The American River Resort offers classic Sierra Nevada foothill camp sites.
• Nearby Placerville has many options including the Cary House Hotel, the Albert Shafsky House B&B, and the Best Western.
