There are no whitewater river rafting trips near San Diego, CA. However, within a 6 - 9 hour drive from San Diego are some of California's best whitewater rafting rivers. For example:
- The Kaweah River near Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park is about a six-hour drive from San Diego.
- Go farther north to near Yosemite National Park and you'll find the Merced & Tuolumne Rivers.
- Near Sacramento, the South Fork American River is the most popular whitewater river in California with great rapids and beautiful scenery. Fun for everyone.
- The Middle Fork American River, also near Sacramento, flows through a 2000-foot deep wilderness canyon and has a taste of Class IV (intermediate) rafting.
