Whitewater Guide School 2008

Hello [fname],

North Fork StanislausOpening day for the 2008 California whitewater season is less than a month away, but at All-Outdoors we’re already out in the sunshine, enjoying the river. This past weekend our guides checked out the spring colors on the South Fork of the American River and led an expedition up to the California Salmon.

Final numbers aren’t in yet, but so far we’re looking ahead to a good snowpack and a great year of rafting. Details below!

Guide school is also coming up. Applications are flowing in and we’re talking to lots of white water hopefuls—get in touch with us soon to reserve your spot if you’re interested in becoming a pro this year.

We’ll have more info on the upcoming season soon.

Until then, enjoy this beautiful spring weather and start thinking about your rafting trip this year!

» Snowpack Update

The Merced RiverWe want to know what the 2008 final snowpack numbers are going to be as much as you do, but it’s still a little early to tell. We do know that winter storms thus far have left us with an overall state average snowpack of 118% of normal. Northern California is at 120% of normal, and SoCal is up to 130%.

In the California rafting industry, the imperative date in which we base each season's predictions is the annual April 1st report. So be sure to keep an eye for next months issue of the AO eNews for our 2008 rafting predictions.
